Tor: kerfoot
Van: 3rd

Tor: sandin
Nsh: glass

Leafs sign
Dehaan 1x1.5
Gagnier 2x750k

Kerfoot becomes a cap casualty in order to land a couple free agent dehaan slides into the top 4 leafs add depth with gagnier but the interesting trade is sandin for Cody glass he had 62pts in 66gp last year in the ahl hasn't been giving a lot of opportunity but has good size and seems like a risk but the leafs have played their hand with sandin by resigning gio and not being willing to move muzzin

I’m okay with most of this but think there are better choices than Gagner and certainly not for 2 years.

Not sure why Nashville didn’t give Glass a chance so that is my only trepidation with that move but he could have some upside!

I agree with the Sandin treatment, much like Campbell, the writing is on the wall perhaps.

Instead of Gagner let’s take a flyer on Jake Virtanen.

I have had Glass in a few as well. He is a tough one. Big boy that hasn't seemed to learn how to use it yet. AHL point producer that hasn't been able to translate to the NHL yet. AT 23, time is starting to run out on him being a possible NHL top 6er. Value might be on Sandin's side at the moment, so I think the trade is fair, but I am not sure Nash has any need for Sandin. Maybe Robertson?

Hard pass on virtanen. Dudes a cancer. The wife has billits growing up and the year he was on the team, all if his teammates hated him. Also the way he was at parties, strong chance he sexually assaulted that girl.

@Randy. I remember you mentioned that about him before and maybe he has matured because of this, maybe not. I totally understand your opinion of him based on what your wife saw/ heard etc.

All that said, he may have done some other things at parties, but doesn't mean he assaulted that particular girl. He lost his NHL job because the Canucks assumed he did it and wanted to make a statement by getting rid of him.

In Canada the jury must be unanimous. That means all 12 jurors didn't believe her and agreed on that conclusion by the next morning. Not saying this means he didn't, and some/ many will think he probably did anyway, but logically it is hard to fool all 12 jurors that they spent basically no time deliberating before agreeing he didn't assault her.

@Randy so is Phil Kessel by all accounts. I still don't think we can just assume he did something after being proven innocent.

Up until the verdict I would have distanced myself as well if I was Dubas. Now though, I would say give him a shot if it's a contract that can be buried for one year.

Good dialogue guys.

I, too, would give him a chance.

He’s 25 now which is the age a man’s brain starts to function properly, according to my wife.

Let’s hope he has learned his lesson.

Vancouver, like the Leafs, are trying to create cap space not take on Kerfoot’s $3.5 million.

Sandin for Cody Glass is interesting but as you say, a risk.
Sandin has proven in his 51 game stint in the NHL last year that he can play in the NHL.
Despite his excellent AHL numbers Glass has still to prove he belongs in the big league.
If Sandin won’t sign it/ holds out it might be worth the risk.

DeHann and Gagner need to retire not be added to Leafs ever growing, over 30 crowd.
