Columbus Is talking to Marners Camp, they don't look very good right now and if they have to give 4 of their next 5 1st rounders they may not want to do that so..

Leafs: Marner, 3rd
Jackets: Jones, Anderson, Foudy

Then we trade Foudy to our new friends

Leafs: Foudy (Can add Timashov if it's not enough)
Knights: Gusev

Gusev-Matthews-Anderson
Hyman-Tavares-Nylander
Johnsson-Kerfoot-Kapanen
Moore-Spezza-Mikheyev

Rielly-Jones
Muzzin-Barrie
Dermott-Ceci

Offense takes a bit of a hit with Marner going but we bring in a true #1 RHD and a physical presence in Anderson, and also allows us to bank on the potential next Panarin.

I don’t know if Leafs can afford it, but if they could, I like it. Especially flipping Foudy for Gusev. Foudy is a great prospect, but Gusev would contribute immediately and significantly. I just don’t know if a re-building Columbus team that has traded so many futures away would part with a prospect such as Foudy too.

Imo with werenski being an rfa I think he would be the player they would want to move which I would take just switch dermott to the right side.

Jones is the rarest commodity in the NHL, a young #1 RH Dman with a great contract. There is no way Columbus would b adding Anderson in this deal though I like Jones for Marner straight up.

The extra cash we could trade bracco 3rd for Gusev and sign the dude 2 yrs 4 mill per

Yes of course Columbus wants him. Practically, every team would want Marner. The reality is Marner wants to be a Leaf and teams don't want to overpay for a short term deal with Marner.

He will be a Leaf signed eventually.

As much as I like marner, thinking about what dubas could do with the money saved and possible 4 1st round picks is exciting. If he stays or goes leafs kind of win either way. I do believe he will stay with Toronto but man. what if?
