I doubt anyone has anything negative to say about this other than not sure either team is going to trade their new toys lol McMann and Roslovic but McMann and two potential top six dman would get us really close to complete.

Not many trades out there that make sense for both teams. Thought I’d try one to bring Bobby back. That would be one of the best 3rd lines in the league though.

That's what I meant too LeafsLife? I know Tre did have a offer on the table and McManns camp turned it down. Hence the trade. Granted he waited to long on the trade and could have got a 1st from a couple teams.

As far as current GM. He could have had McMann back as a UFA but he also did not want to pay the amount.

@Hrenkin.... The Roslovic thing is not that dumb. He is one of the few UFA's that has signed for that $ range amount to not have any trade protection in the last few years. I think even if he gets off to a quick start he may be moved by the end of the year. It is because it is a pattern with him. Quick starter Slow finisher.

Now I know Hrenkin should not have used the term Dumb but don't stoop to Champs nasty comments by insulting Hreenkin with the Mirror comment. We are generally a group of people who may disagree and such and maybe have a comeback of some sort. But we don't have to stoop to personal appearnace comments or similar. I know you are better than that Buddy.

Tre built the Flames into contenders and in his first yesr made this team into a division winning team. I don't hate him the way some do.

Carlo was said to be a good trade at the time and Laughton was an overpay. Now, we sit back and say he f***ed up, but basically the same team exists where it matters.



Tre brought in Tanev and Chayka brought in Raddysh. Those two are the big acquisitions that are still here. Let's see which GM did better in September.

@Suffering, I agree with you. But just tend to give back the same energy they give me. Hrenklin always has an ignorant comment to make so I tend to respond with one.

@the rest; I have to agree that Tre was a bad GM. I give him his credit though, no one has got these players to sign note team friendly contracts then Tre. I would have kept him for negotiations purposes only.

Not to make any decisions about players coming on and off this team. The whole changing identity thing and going out and getting Maccelli first thing rubbed me wrong off the bat. I know everyone is gonna say it was no risk because it was short term but that was also another 3.5M we couldn’t use to get someone we actually needed. I like that Chatka has gone out and got defined role players.

You know when you get a name like Sissons, he is playing a shut down 3rd line role on almost any team. Paul is a great compliment to that shut down line, giving the coach an opportunity to use this line against tough match ups freeing up Matthews line for a more favourable 5 on 5 game. Same with Blueger and Duhaime, rounds out a solid 4th line on most teams as well and if Joshua can get back to where he was a few years ago, that will be a very reliable line that can produce from time to time.

With Chayka so far I just didn’t like some of the trades and what we got back for guys like Woll and Robertson, don’t like the Roslovic pick up. But he sees the value in Knies for this team so not moving him(hopefully) makes me like him and solidified the goaltending with a solid vet for AA to learn from and to take over for in a few years. I would of liked another tough guy two that can play in the everyday lineup but I think this team can at least compete for playoffs in the toughest division in the league.

My issue with the Sissons contract is we gave him almost a 50% pay hike after going from 35 points to 21 points to 11 points in last 3 seasons. When JT took that huge hometown discount to allow for the team to gain massive cap space.

And still put up 31 goals and 71 points and he and Sissons are now earning almost the same amount.

Take McMann and Roslovic out of the proposal not gonna happen. If u r getting Lindgren in the deal for Reilly why spend $4m on Stanley? You don’t need him. Tbh I would do an even swap cause Lindgren not better than Rielly only difference is age. He’s been a 3rd pair guy his whole career so far. Never put up 20pts in his career so far. Lorentz thing is what it is if u get a draft pick fine if not you waiver him.

He clears u save $1.2m in cap hit from his $1.35m. So he’s a non factor anyways. So let’s say he’s gone that’s $4.35m- $2.75m=$1.6m left. Once u LTIR Domi’s $3.75m you got $5.35m. Not giving Stanley $4mx2. No other team thinks he’s worth it or he would have been signed already. That’s my take Clarky save the cap see what else can be done during the season

@suffering. It's dumb because of the long term effects. If you get a moniker like a GM will sign you just to trade you right away. No player would ever sign for that GM again. It is essentially career suicide

Before ever playing a game. Sure trade him at the deadline. But to trade anyone before they even play a game is career suicide for a GM. No player will ever sign for him. Unless there's 23 active NMC on 1 team.

For starters, Hrenkin, the trade we know would not take place because McMann is not going to waive and it is all just a fantasy suggested trade. Regarding Roslovic, if the right deal was there and salary had to be chopped and it works that he goes. Any GM would do the same thing if they had to let him go as soon as they are allowed which isn't for another few weeks. Truthfully. He may end up getting beat out for his job at training camp anyway.

I wouldn't shed to many tears for him if he was traded. This is a guy who is on his 3rd agent anyway, and the reason as well he doesn't have trade protection is because even though his cap is $4 million for 2 years he got have up front as signing bonus. So UFA's in that position would still sign here no matter what. It is still about money for guys who are 3rd and 4th line calibre and he is a 3rd liner on a good day.
