So keep building around what’s already failed with Am34 Nylander that did that finger crap gave up in practice but swears he wants to win in Toronto? So, instead of potentially building around a newly acquired First round pick that is apparently gonna be elite in McKenna and maybe trading away one of these losers from 10yrs of if we had this guys for a legit young future #1 Dman build around them Cowboy and Danford and some of the other young guys turning heads we stay the course?! Nah im good not interested sorry for the rant but I’ve read your posts you are a fan just can’t believe you haven’t learned.
It’s time to move on to the next chapter and having the first ova is a great start! WE DONT TRADE IT!

9 straight years of playoff hockey is hardly a failure. Nylander was 1.22 points per game last year and Matthews will undoubtedly regain his form. That being said, at this point for me trade the 1st overall pick should be used for Werenski or an equally proven #1 franchise defensemen. That’s the only way I’d part with the top pick in the draft.

I’m a rebuild fan.
Thought I would post something different.
Robby Thomas is a gamer, only 28.
Parayko is a big add to the blue line.
I would love to see Nylander and Reilly gone and even Matthews.
The haul would be amazing.
The rebuild would be refreshing.

So we're trading a 18yr old too dynamic player, for a 28yr old right handed center, and a 33byr old mountain of a dmen. I'd at least look at trading for Thomas and 2 of St Louis 3 first round draft picks to get the best of both worlds.

Yes that would work for me hrenklin.
Thomas is a stud.
Would be an awesome add.
But I am still torn in giving up the 1st overall…

How bout if if Knies goes it's to Buffalo for Byram and Helenius or to Chicago for Levshunov and 4 ova. Then we draft Malhotra our future 2 line C, maybe 1st line still draft McKenna and have a bright future with a number one dman on the team for once.
Wereinski is a stud buddy but I think we gotta look at getting younger man. Not that he’s old but this team isn’t gonna be fixed with older adds. We need to change the core. Believe me trading Knies is not what I’d want to do either.

Actually Robert Thomas is 26 years old not 28. And I think any deal St Louis adds there 11th overall pick. I’m not a fan of Parayko so I would want someone else.

I think "Matthew will undoubtably regain his form" is a very risky statement. This is 2 years in a row with sub par goal numbers for him. Now he is coming off knee surgery and there is a good chance he plays even more gun shy on cutting to the middle and driving to the net.
Is it worth the gamble to see if he can bounce back? If he doesn't then he might be almost impossible to trade for anything of value. Right now he is not worth what he was at the beginning of last season but he is still worth a decent return.
