You posted this twice so I'll just respond to this one.
I don't know why, but this really appeals to me. I don't know where or how you came up with this idea, but I really like it.

Puljujarvi I see as another Kapanen. Struggling to find his place, but with a little work within the leafs organization, he could improve to be a top 6 forward just like Kapanen did. Targeting him is very smart in my opinion.

Then you trade one bad contract for another and get a Top 4d as well for a first and the rest of Kapanen's value (because he is worth more then Puljujarvi by this point) .

Again I really like this idea, Not sure if Dubas pulls the trigger because they may still try to re-sign Kapanen, especially if Gardiner walks.

Never trade a 1st round pick, Lucic is a disaster waiting to happen. He was to be McDavids protection. never happened. Kapanen for a could be player, no way. Lastly Larson is the only piece of real value. Suggest Zaitsev 2, 2rd Rd picks and maybe a project player Holl.

I actually posted it originally about 16 hours ago. I didn’t think it uploaded propoerly, so tried again. Then both went up. Lol. It’s such a good trade, maybe people would want to read it twice anyway though right? Lol.

Larsson is the target, with the injection of getting out of Zaitsev’s contract a secondary goal. Considering what Edmonton paid for Larsson, Zaitsev and a couple 2nd round picks probably isn’t enough to land Larsson. I valued it more like Kapanen + 1st for Larsson, who is having another great year, and Zaitsev in exchange for Lucic + Puljujarvi. Basically an exchange of not so good contracts. Edmonton retains to make salaries work.

Thanks for the response. You always have good stuff to. Always a good read. It looks like you assessed this proposal much the same way I did. Larsson is playing better hockey in Edmonton than he was in Jersey. He won’t be cheap to acquire.

Might just work. Make the 1st round pick a second. The Lucic part intrigues me. He is a pretty gritty sonavagun.

I'm liking this deal. get a better dman, a possible gem if put in proper situátion and a man beast more suited for the east . once again you've put a grindge/ home alone 2 hotel manager grin across my face. bravo
