So leafs have signed Swedish center. let's say bye to Bozak. Leafs probably pay Swedish center 1 million. The Swedish league is better than AHL. So a point a game is impressive.

Neal has been pretty consistent his entire career. He’s good for about 25 goals and 40 points, which ain’t bad at all. I don’t think Leafs have any interest, but we could do worse than to pursue Neal.

Carlson had a career year this year, which happened to be his contract year. He’s played himself into a big raise. I view this year as somewhat of an anomaly. I’m not convinced he can keep playing at such a high level for 7-8 years. I would pass on Carlson.

Cole is good. And if Dermott plays good enough, you can slot him higher and drop Cole.

Roussel is good. Though I hear Jagr is available. Lol.

I'm hoping that Par Lindholm is our replacement for the 4C position. He's a very good two way centremen who likes to hit and also block shots. I'm not sure if he'd be an upgrade offensively over Bozak but he's definitely better defensively. He also took 1100 faceoffs last year and had a success rate of 58%. It obviously wouldn't be as high in the NHL but would still post over 50%.

I’ve obviously never heard of this Lindholm guy. His profile looks good. He’s an interesting choice. got to wonder how he will do on North American rink and with 82 game schedule. He’s cheap enough anyway.

LeafsGM this swede must be added to be 3 Rd line center his stats are too good for 4 th line role. It will be interesting to watch leafs fine tune the ship.

He's a 4th liner David.

Yeah, I can't see him being our fix for the third line centre role. Good depth pickup anyways though.

I don’t think the Swedish guy is going to be our 3C. I have a hard time seeing him make 4C full time. If anything, he will be sharing 4C duties with someone. He’s insurance against injury, and acts as a plug while we start to introduce Aaltonen into the system. It’s a depth move until we figure something better out, then he will probably be dropped in a couple years. If he even lasts that long.

Reports compare Lindholm at about the same level as Aaltanen so a battle for the 4C job with Gauthier ensuing. Not the answer for the 3C opening as it stands.
No to Neal, Leafs have options from within and the money can be better spent on D.
Agree with LeafsGM. Carlson's history doesn't support his being able to sustain or repeat this season. Also mediocre at best defensively, not what the Leafs need. Would stay away from offering big dollars and term to him.

spider, who do the leafs have within that can score 20-30 goals, playoff experience, and brings some grit to a team that was very soft last year? I already have 7 entry level contract on the roster above.
Carlson - Can be a PP guy and moves the puck well, which will help the forwards and not spend as much time in the D Zone.
Not much out there, that would improve out much needed D.

With Nylander being almost invisible and Matthews being good, but not close to great in the playoffs, how much does that lower signing figures?

I know it’s not going to call for a major change, but maybe a bit of consideration (especially in Nylander case)

Thoughts?

I really like the idea of a player of Neals caliber of play along side of Matthews and Marner.
