Im going to get a lot of flack for this, but here it goes

I don't know if this is enough from the leafs to get this return but its the only way i'd part with marner. Or something equivelant. A top tier defenseman 2 firsts and give them jvr amd a 2nd

As great as it would be to land Doughty, he's an UFA after next season so if he really wants to sign in Toronto, and if the Leafs want to sign Doughty, then he will become a Leaf.

Presently, there is no way a team like LA is giving up 2 first round picks plus their franchise defenceman for this return. Sauce is right. Not a good deal for LA.

JVR alone is Doughty. Marner is Brilliant; in fact, he's sexy on ice and letting him go for picks; although 1st rds would result in the city of Toronto being burned.

If I read correctly JVR does not equal Doughty. Doughty is game changer on the ice and a franchise defenceman. JVR is a complimentary player. Toronto couldn't land Harmonic, a 2nd pairing defenceman, using JVR and a 1st.

Davidmackin, your list is pretty spot on. The reason why the Leafs are unable to land a top 4 defender through trade is because teams covet players from your list and not so much the JVR's and Bozak's of this league.

Definitely Bracco and Korshkov are tradeable assets! Kapanen is more part of that core than those 2.

Well atleast someones value is even further off then mine jvr matches doughty lol more like marner is 2 firsts and most of an elitr defender. Also marner may request to much and be a hassle to sign just seems the type. Also marner had a good year but small elite players don't always stay that way. Doughty is more then likely going to get resigned before any team has a chance I don't see him going to free agency. My value may be off but toronto would still be skilled up front and get the return you would need to trade a marner esque player but trade while the values high no?
