Toronto: JVR 50% retained 2.15mil cap hit

San Jose: Tommy Wingles ( Cap 2.4 mil salary ) Timo Meier or Thomas Hertal (Toronto's choice) and 2017 1st (turns to 2018 if they make the conference final)

SJ lines

JVR Thornton Pavalasky

Donskoi Couture Ward

Bodeker Marleau Tierney

Spalling Karlsson UFA/ Rotating postion

Defence

Martin Burns

Valasic Braun

Dillon Schlemko

Jones
Dell/ UFA

Those lines are pretty crazy all they really need is a strong backup goalie to be the cup favourite and this trade leaves them with 1 mil in Cap Space.

Both trade options are good for the Leafs and they get younger and rid of an older JVR.

He's 27 islandjet. He's in his prime. What are you talking about an "older" JVR. You can't play a full team of 20 year olds with 1 or 2 years of experience.

krn27 calm down. I was just saying the leafs are going to be a good team that will challenge for the cup in 4/5 years, if their draft choices develop. By adding any of those players or future draft choice proposed in this trade those players would be in their prime in 5 years. They then would be more useful to the Leafs than a 32 year old JVR who will be banged up by then due to the type of game he plays. Look at the big picture. isn't that what the Leaf management is trying to do.

There's no reason to retain salary for JVR.

There's also no reason to move the pick to 2018 for any reason. That's just utter nonsense.

I assume your second option is Hertl and the 1st. That would be the one to take over Wingel and Meier.

However better is JVR(no ret) in exchange for Hertl and Meier over the other two deals.

Wingel is just not that impressive and the 1st will be in the last 5 slots.

SJS can work out their own cap space by unloading Marleau.

It is not the responsibility of the Leafs to bail out another team.

Otherwise they can go elsewhere with JVR and leave SJS in their own cap mess.

What do you mean he will be banged up because of the type of play he plays. He isn't a hitter. Just because he's a big body doesn't mean he throws people around.

If the trade JVR the team will still have proven Leaders like Michalek,Komarov,Bozak,Lupul and Laich KRH27 you can sign experience for free but you can't sign youthful Talent.

Islandjet is the biggest JVR hater and has no clue of his value

Puck it I wouldn't say that his 2 year contract hurts his value.

The two years left on his deal doesn't hurt him at all. It makes him more appealing. Not sure what u mean?
