As a leafs fan, what would be your thoughts on

JVR and Komarov
For
5th overall and Tanev.

Too little return for the Leafs.

I think lab16 and you are high. what planet are you people on that your getting the fifth overall pick and Tanev for that?. I love the Leafs but give me a break.

Juolevi and Tanev will be at worst an awesome 2nd pair, I don't know it that would be too little. They could add a prospecg like Boeser could be a player they could try to getting adding Gauthier in return, just doubt they'd add

Jimmy JVR is a second overall pick man, 30 goal scores don't grow on trees. JVR is worth the 5th, Komarov may not be as good as Tanev, but with values high and Benning having less than half a clue while wanting to make a playoff push still, it could go down. I don't think Van would add though forsure, maybe the leafs add a B/C prospect.

JVR is worth the pick and the prospect alone, and you want to give them uncle Leo?

Tanev 18 pts, -8, never played more than 70 games, comes from a losing team that has the twins (talk about tanking).

5th overall - about a 70% chance of playing more than 200 games. That doesn't mean being good; just playing 200 games. You can look up the historical compilation of draft position for playing 200 games, pts/GP, and relative value to the #1 pick.

After that, you will, maybe, come "back to earth", and realize Jimmy, that it is "you" that is "high" and that's why everyone else appears to be, just to you. We just gave up a 1st and a 2nd for a goalie. How does that fit your argument here?

Everyone is on the "pick is everything" bandwagon right now, but the picks after the first three drop in value considerably.

"No one" is going to pick Juolevi when they can have Tkachuk or Dubois and that Sergachyov is probably better (he's certainly bigger). Not unless they have entirely screwed up their rebuild for 10 years, and are desperate for D (ahem!).

I watched Juolevi on the Knights all winter, and while he is good, he is also light, not aggressive, can be knocked off the puck easily. He is Gardiner light.

Sergachyov on the other hand is bigger, a better skater, is aggressive, and scored more pts on a worse team.

Juolevi is living off the hype of the U18 and playing on a championship OHL team.

And Jimmy, we all know you are an Oilers fan, you just have to stop smoking the oil.

Thx hpm. someone with some common sense. there is not one single gm in the nhl that trades the fifth overall pick in this year's draft straight up for JVR!!. let alone with a prospect attached to it. not one I tell ya!. why?. because a guy named Pierre Luc Dubois. you get him for cheap for the next seven years that's why!. he's bigger faster and is nasty and projects to be pretty damn good. oh did I mention he's cheap labor for the next 7 years and he's about 8 years younger?. yeah that's what I thought. enough said

My dear friend lab 16

My name is James and I was born in Toronto Ontario in 1971 in the sick children's hospital . that is a fact. however I've been living in Edmonton since I was 9 years old as that was my father's decision to move out west. I will have you know that I have lived and died with my blue and white hometown boys from the six all my life. so that's just a bit about me and what I stand and who I cheer for. I folow this game very diligently and I've always been a hockey fan at heart. so there!!. lol. as it pertains to your response I kinda like some of what you had to say . but I repeat. nice and loud so everyone can hear. no one and I mean no gm in the nhl would trade you this year's 5th overall pick for JVR!!. not one. if they would have then Lou would have already have done it and that gm would be fired!. end of story!;)

Or. Dubois is the second coming of Nick Ritchie, for whom the masses (including Grapes) roasted the Leafs for selecting Nylander ahead of!

Nail yakupov was a 1st ova pick does that mean he still worth a 1 ova? Should we trade him for Matthews? That's fair right? jvr has scored 30 once! And it was 30 bang on. lab 16 u are stupid . and stupid people u can you tell them from a mile away but up close you can't tell them anything. put the pipe down bro

HPM: Bobby Hull: 1 cup, defector, bad attitude, enough said.

JIMMY: Do you repeat where your from every time you get criticized or your allegiance is challenged.

As for Dubois, he might go as high as third. How does that affect Vancouver's drafting? Drafting is a crap shoot, nothing is guaranteed to work, and what you want may not be available at draft time. We actually do agree on Dubois, and I think he could go to Columbus, although the GM is Finnish and he will make a mistake by picking Jesse.

JVR is a LW power forward at a 60pt/season rate on bad Toronto teams. He hasn't played with a quality center-man yet or on a quality team, yet he still delivers a 60 pt. rate.

Kinner29 actually brought up Yakapuff as a reference, and made my day, and my point for me, only he's not going to realize it.

Keep on smoking the oil as well Kinner. (It's a containment metonym; not that you will know what that is or what is meant by it!). Lovely grammar and punctuation by the way! You must have lots of friends being so smart and all.

Now Jimmy, please have some Doritos, and 7 or 8 brews and calm down, relax, do whatever it is you Oilers fans have done during the 10 year tank.

I only have 1 question for you. What are you going to do if it's the Oilers vs. the Leafs in the cup in 5 years or so?

Have you thought about that! Mr. Fence Sitter.

To my dear friend lab16

I don't need to worry who I cheer for because I've loved the Leafs all my life. to answer your question I would always cheer for Toronto . oh one more thing. I do respect your opinion on here. however you do have the democratic right to be wrong though. just because you berate other people on here and go on long nonsensical rants doesn't make you right. btw one thing still remains. your still waaaay overvaluating JVR. I love hI'm personally but at least I like to think I'm realistic about it. have a nice day;)

1st of all Jimmy; I don't go around berating people, but I do respond when people like you imply that other people are high, when you don't like their content. As a matter of fact Jimmy, you do it all the time, and rarely ever post. It's pretty sad.

A lot of my posts are cynical humour after cheering for a team that hasn't won a cup since 67. A lot of people just don't get what I write and that's ok! But no, I don't go around calling people high, I don't continuously insult them. But you do! You have issues pal. Try to be a little more polite.

It's amazing how you react when someone does it to you.
