A couple things were very apparent last night with what the leafs lack one being we still don't have a good backup two we are softer then baby rubbish and three Ceci is not a good Defenseman

Kapanen cost us the game last night and showed that he has some maturing to do but my thing is once Hyman is back he's probably going to be playing on the fourth line which he won't do much and it will kill his value. Kassian is a guy that can play that don't touch my star play guy he also can play hockey I just cannot stand going through a season watching teams like Montreal run our top players and not pay the price also bear comes in and is a bottom pairing option

So just wait a second. I watched the game and everything you said is some what correct but that said even with the Man Crush I have for Kassian you can not make this trade! For the love of god Ol’man just relax and let’s talk this one out lol! There’s a lot of Kassian haters they will call him a knuckle dragger so watch out I’m sure there lining up there post as I type! I agree that we are as soft as jello! Marner, Mathews and Nylander oops almost forgot the Captain are soft but amazing offensive skills, I’ve tried posting some trades but for some reason they won’t post them. Don’t get me wrong I love me some Kassian but not at that price. for that amount we should be be in Nurse territory.

I will try to post my trades again to avoid stealing your trade post! But I like Jenner and Nash from Columbus and I would take Kassian for the fourth line.

Positive thinking lol is what we need! Trade Babcock for Quinville and go from there. Also our third line is ferocious Moore/ Kerfoot/ Mikheyev besides Mathews’s offence they’ve played the best 2-way hockey so far.

And what’s up with Spezza! I remember when we signed Babcock with Toronto and I was like Thank you hockey gods First Shanny and now Babcock and now I’m like holy guacamoly! Lol! PS horrible trade! Overpayment! Chow!

What i saw was a tired team in the 3rd mentally and physically. What i saw was a montreal team only playing their 2nd game and in toronto at that. What i saw was a backup goalie whom looked like a backup goalie. What i saw was even when tired toronto managed to score with less than 2 minutes left on a non tired team on a world class goalie.

Nothing soft about how toronto played in period 1 and 2. They made montreal look like they are. very very weak.

Put andersen in net and totally differant result.

Have you ever played 3 in 4 nights against a fresh team in game 4.i have and that last period og the last game sucks. No matter how good in shape you are or what part of the season you are in it sucks.

How about say good on toronto for sucking it up and managing 1 point on a fresh team with the supposed best goalie in the league

Shame on leaf fans who don't see it this way

Look at colombus and jersey. both played friday and got destroyed 7-2 saturday. leafs did pretty damn good until the 3rd.,1 period of 9 come on people.

Don’t matter if a team is fresh or not shouldn’t be blowing 3 goal leads as for the toughness on this team we need people to stick up for guys like marner and Tavares as well as Matthews or eventually they will be injured like cherry said you can play with not grit in the regular season but come playoff time it doesn’t cut it.

@Craigger I agree they looked gassed. They really did. Kappy did something stupid in a game. He isn't Kadri level so let's all relax a little lol. That wasn't the only reason they lost the game. Not was Hutch. Hutchinson wasn't abysmal in that game. He had his moments where I wished Freddy was in but the defense around him was HORRIBLE bad giveaways everywhere, odd man rushes every few minutes, it was not a good effort overall from anyone. But then again, in September-october everyone is still finding their legs and playing in 3 over 4 nights at this point in the season is a terrible schedule.

@Leaf1994 Kapanen is still a good player. Moore played well in THREE games. Not a SEASON of games. If you think Kassian is the answer I don't think I can even express my disappointment. Kassian is not a good player. Would like him on the fourth line at leave minimum but other than that what value does he bring? He can't even score beside Mcdavid! How much does it get? You would begging for the GOAT after a few games of Kassian.

Mikeyhev for a guy his size is a very good skater and that third line has looked incredible. Kerfoot is a very solid 3rd line centre. I do not believe Moore is a better player right now than Kapanen. Kapanen had never played against opposing teams first line nor has he ever played left wing. Expecting him to hit the ground running just means you need to get your expectations in check. Why not bring Marchment up, out him in net and see how he does? Give Kappy some time to adjust or play his natural spot.

This right here, is what destroys people's confidence in Toronto. "That guy made a dumb play one time in the third game of the season! Wtf man! You should never play NHL hockey again! " It's just an overreaction over a largely meaningless game.

Calling Tavares soft like Marner, Mathews and Nylander is something I would never do. He's a battler on most nights. He takes hits, gets in front of the net and retrieves that damn puck. For a superstar in the NHL he is definitely a far more competitive one than a lot of them.

Ceci has also not looked bad. He looks far, far better than I expected from him. So leave him alone lol.

Eating my words on Barrie so far. Looks good defensively beside Muzzin. Give the team some time. By game 20 we will know how it looks.

Wanna bitch? Bitch about how bad the PK and PP look. That was the downfall of last year and it looks just as bad now.

A little bit of an overreaction. Just maybe? You think? Lol. Sure, Kapanen has a brain fart and did something silly. Does that make him any lesser of a player? Not in my eyes. He still has everything going for him that he did last week. And while it might not have been their best game, it was a good effort. At least they showed up and tried. Three years ago, you wouldn’t be able to make that statement.

According to RedWing, what you are offering here could get us Pesce, or another player like him. I for one would rather have Pesce than Kassian, who is vastly overpaid for his position. I hope Dubas has more self-control than to rush out and do something like this. Liljegren’s star may not be shining so bright since being drafted, but I do believe he will be better than Bear still.

Not a big fan of Lili. Never really have been but I agree @LeafsGm. Takes time to develop. Not everyone is like Sandin and ready to go at 19.

Can we all take a moment and praise Keefe for the absolutely amazing job he has done in the AHL? this guy has taken a bunch of later draft choices and helped them along their way. Yes Bracco and Lili haven't made the team yet but the Marlies have done far more with far less than the leafs under Babcock.

For the record My man Kassian had 2 g and 1 a = total of 3 points better that a few on the leafs once again I’m not saying he’s competing for the Richard trophy! Just pointing out facts he’s out scored Johnsson and Kapanen combined once again this is factoid! Lol still not making this trade!
