That is a bad mistake, the LEAFS have two LHD right behind Dermott, -Rosen and Sandin.

To add a RHD for Brown + Dermott for Manson is a reasonable price.

Heatdreamer we have Muzzin for next year after that he will most likely gone dermott will move up Sandin draws in on the bottom pair dermott has played the right side at times this year and looked pretty good so I think that is an option too.

No one else has said it, so I may as well: Why On Earth Would You Want Perry? That contract of his is a killer. It’s a year longer than Marleau’s and almost $2M higher. I get you are dumping Zaitsev too, but I’m not sure taking a monster dump truck contract like Perry’s is the right way to go about it.

After next season we are free from Marleau’s “bad” contract. Which isn’t even bad. That’s about what you can expect to pay for his replacement. If Marleau has 27 goals like he did last year, it wouldn’t even be an overpayment. It’s one more year, after that we have over &10M to play with.

I think given the choice between waiving, or playing in the AHL, Marleau would waive. However, that sets a bad vibe. I get it wasn’t a Dubas signing. But how he treats the old boy helped determine if other free agents come here.

@hotwing69, we all know that you don’t think that said I do appreciate you mentioning that “you don’t think” that’s the first step in fixing the problem is admitting to it, so here’s your “that a boy” for recognizing your Problems. I’m not on the Pesce train but if there was a deal straight up this could be it. I think the leafs are giving up more in the trade so it’s a take from a strength to get someone that can help us in our weakness.
