Trade JRV, and pick number 30 to NYI in exchange for:
2016 1st round pick (19th), M Dal Colle, and Ryan Pulock.
draft: 1st-Matthews
19th: Max Jones or Logan Stanley
Thats 3-4 quality players who can all step into the lineup next year and the franchise will be loaded with young talent. (maybe Jones/ Stanley heads back to juniors for another year)
I also think it could be valuable to sign David Backes in Free agency this year as he could provide some valuble experience and support those young guys. Especially Matthews.

watched knights lots this year. jones was a good power forward, in the ohl but I feel that he has limited offensive upside for the nhl. love his size though. stanley is probably not mobile enough for babcock.
backes would be a good sign but he is 32 and is coming off of 4.5 AAV and will be looking for long term (4-5 years) of at least 5 million or more
so no to the trade.

not signing stamkos now! dream is over leafs fan. sad ending, but definitely not a loss for us. We are a rebuilding team with GREAT young franchise players. in 2 years we may have a shot to take a run and at Tavares! great times are ahead for us you guys. I see us being Stanley cup contenders in 2-3 years.

i honestly feel like its highly unlikely we will sign stamkos. That being said, I would much rather keep Kadri, try to trade Bozak and and a B level prospect in exchange for a guy like Trouba from the jets.
We can also try to sign Shattenkirk next year if he hits free agency!

No. Leafs are not going to trade the pick, get it past your head. Were not going to pass up a franchise centre in Matthew's.
