As a top 5 protected pick I actually wouldn't do this. It would have to be 3-4 pick for me to be ok with this.

I would still make this deal even with the top 5 protection. This draft is being hyped as one of the best evrr. Even a guy drafted between 5-10 would have been a top 5 pick in most year The fact that the top 3 players in this year's draft are all being touted as franchise cant-miss prospects tells me that their is a lot of very good talent to be had, even past the top 5.

The problem with this proposal is that Detroit is almost definitely going to get another top 5 pick. So this wouldn't help us at all until next year. If we have to wait a full year, then the 1st shouldn't have any conditions attached for next year's pick.

I definitely liked this proposal though. A lot different than most we have seen lately. And for that reason alone I like it.
