Leafs trade Matthews, Sandin
Vancouver trades Pettersson, Hughes

That Hughes is outstanding. I got to think this kid is going to be a Norris trophy winner one day. Sandin has a very high ceiling, but he is nowhere in the same league as Hughes. The hype about Sandin being a franchise defenseman is way overblown. I love the kid and all, but compared to Hughes, Makar, Dahlin, Heiskenan, he is not in the same category. Those four are in top tier. Sandin and Liljegren are a tier lower.

Matthews is obviously a far superior player to Pettersson. Same as how Hughes is a level ahead of Sandin, Matthews is a level ahead of Pettersson.

So basically:

(Matthews-Pettersson) = (Hughes-Sandin)

We take a downgrade at centre to upgrade our defense. And we drop an $11M salary in the process. One of the highest contracts of all time. Of which we currently have three of the highest paying contracts in nhl history on the team. Is Matthews worth $11M? Of course he is. All three of Matthews, Marner, Tavares are probably worth close to what they are earning. Can one team afford all three of them and still build in the rest of the team with the remaining cap hit? No. And that’s why one of them needs to go. Matthews is the one I have the hardest time seeing being a life long Leaf. He also has the highest trade value. Hence the reason he is proposed here.

I wouldn’t do it since I believe Mathews Is the best player in the deal for now and down the road. Though it is an interesting proposal.

I don't think Vancouver does this. Hughes is something special. He will win a Norris if not multiple in his life. Very interesting prop but considering the aav on Peterson and Hughes it's a massive win for Dubas in the current state.

So at 19, 20 years old you are predicting what a Defenceman will be like in 5 years - norris trophy wise. Sandin may not be Hughes and nobody is predicting he will be but he looks like a great prospect, just like the rest you mentioned, prospects. Some are further along than others and are playing on teams with a better D than ours - makes a BIG difference. Put Sandin on any of those teams and then we would be able to compare, just doing what he is in TO is amazing based on the support he has.

Sandin is our future on the blue line but that sounds like some bias 16 lol.

Vancouver would value their 2 more than our two and vice versa. It's a good prop but I doubt either does it more j think about it.

Matthew's is too good to trade. We are likely talking in 10 years from now the possibility of him breaking Gretzkys goal record. He is NOT going anywhere.

Other than Sandin and Liljegren, none of these guys are prospects anymore. The standard definition that I read for prospects regularly is under 25 years old or under 50 nhl games. So everyone else is an nhl player. And I’m not the only one that predicts what 19, 20 year olds will become. It happens constantly, even on this site. And I have no doubt that you do it yourself all the time as well. Sand and Liljegren both look amazing. I said that. And I am suggesting putting Sandin on Vancouver so we could see what he would be like.

I read your message accusing me of ridiculing you. In fact though, all my replies to your posts yesterday were virtually identical to the ones that you put up for my props just prior. All the Wow’s, and the sarcasm and the calling your post shot. That can from you. In fact, I just cut and pasted your reply to my Jost/ Byram trade and changed the names to Puljujarvi/ Bouchard for your post. What makes your prop any different than mine? It seems like you’ve had a chip on your shoulder ever since you first joined the site and put up that Pietrangelo trade I didn’t fully agree with. Very immature and a complete overreaction from you and ever since you’ve been sarcastic and responded to majority of my props with nothing but hypercriticism and childish namecalling and swearing. Like is said, all I did yesterday was use your exact responses to my props back against you on your props. If you can’t take it, don’t fish it. I’ve tried repeatedly to be nice to you and you’ve repeatedly reacted with sarcasm and anger. If your feelings are still hurt because of that stupid Pietrangelo trade from last year then you need to grow up and get over it.

You asked what I want from you? I think it’s pretty obvious. Drop the sarcasm and acting like I’m your online enemie and start responding like a normal person to a prop. Because next time you hype a prospect and make a prediction about how good you think he’s going to be, I’m just going to respond with the exact same response you posted here. Fair is fair.
