Toronto Maple Leafs have acquired forward Andrew Mangiapane from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for goaltebder Anthony Stolarz.

As part of the deal, Chicago will retain 25% of Mangiapane’s salary.

Toronto does not sign Nick
Robertson. Both are smaller but different types of players, and Mangiapane is more useful in the physical game and overall play than Nick. In the third line role Mangiapane would fit better than N. Robertson.

If Mangiapane has a strong final year of his contract, then just hand him an extension. Toronto would no longer need Stolarz.

So pull the trigger.

What is with all the trades for Mangiapane, he’s terrible and is not a good fit for the Leafs. Brutal return for Stolarz.

You can look at it that way if you want. Are you okay, suffer67? You focus on one word here on the forum and feel the need to jump on it,, if you’re like 15–20 years old, I can understand that attitude. But if you are older that's weird.

And Stolarz isn’t exactly a great player either, so swapping two players like that… sometimes teams just do that. Mangiapane brings so much more than just a shot, which is pretty much all Nick brings, so 100 times out of 100 I’d take Mangiapane over Robertson.

And there’s really no point in keeping Stolarz. Chicago could use an experienced backup who can play 20–30 games a season.

So does Toronto really not want to take a chance on a player coming off a weaker season? Only guys who are over performing allowed on the roster? Wow, okay then. Good luck for that.

Keep Nick he’s a 20-30 goal scorer next year if he plays more then 12 minutes a game and has PP time.

Mangiapane is a disaster.
He had 8 goals and 8 assists in 62 games and sported a -21.
Leafs have more than enough disasters on their roster without searching for another one.
