Ana: Senneke, McTavish, 2x 2nd Rd pick.

This is how the Leafs should look at a retool. Is then look at flipping McTavish for Robert Thomas.

I don't see much of a return there. Sennecke is a good on and hopefully will continue to progress. McTavish is more of a 50 point guy so not sure how you would pry Thomas loose by flipping him to St.

Louis. Anaheim right now sitting at the top of their Division really is not in any rush to make a Trade for a Nylander or a Mattews. They have a good young nucleus and could add a veteran piece or two via Free Agancy.

I like that trade! Maybe we throw in something else so we can get a 1st and a 2nd. Keep McTavish, he can be second line center. Then we trade Mathews to L. A. and use some of that capital to trade for Thomas!

M4L - We'd have to be keeping Matthews is essential for maintaining our center depth. Thomas is a better center as a whole and right handed. Which is better long term since there is a need to have both left and right handed centers for specific situations.

Don’t want McTavish. You need Gauthier or Carlsson to come back in this trade. Then there is no need for Thomas cause either of those guys will easily fill C2 spot. Throw in Stolarz as they need a back up for Dostal. Then u turn a 2nd into a 1st.

Anaheim gets: Nylander and Stolarz

Toronto gets: Sennecke, one of either Gauthier or Carlsson, a 1st and a 2nd correct?

Well if I am the Leafs I am doing it. If I am the GM in Anaheim I am frantically waving for someone who knows the Heimlich because I am choking on my sandwich when I hear the proposal. Lol

Nylander is a good piece but you are not getting 2 out of the top 3 scorers off a team that made the playoffs and also throwing in a 1st round pick.

The other 2nd round pick might do the Stolarz part of the deal.

I do agree with not wanting McTavish. I think people overrate him because of his insane WJC year. But he just has not turned into that player in the NHL.

Cops Senneke is the prize. McTavish is having a down year like so many players have had after missing 1/2 or training camp due to contract negotiations. Ullmark, Nylander, Gaudreau had a terrible season right after signing a big contract. I expect a solid bounce back.

McTavish had not exactly lit the league on fire the previous 3 seasons. Solid seasons for a 3rd line centre but not eye opening stuff.

So take out Sennecke if he’s such a prize, insert Carlsson or Gauthier and drop in Luneau. Now u got C2, a RD and a 1st and 2nd. U trying to tell me Nylander and Stolarz not worth that?
