I don’t think Matthews honestly wants to be in a Leafs jersey much longer and definitely not past this 4yr contact that expires 2028’. So here’s a couple players I’ve mentioned I’m curious what you guys think of this

Leafs Matthews 50% retention on his 2 remaining yrs

For this huge retention

Ducks B Sennecke, R McQueen, Stian Solberg

Future first line or worst 2nd line C and first line RW with a Top 4 D man. Think Sennecke can play C too. Remember Sennecke is on his ELC so paying 34 for 2 more yrs and getting Solberg for doing so doesn’t hurt.

I like most of the deal, but, the leafs would need draft picks coming back aswell since trading Matthews with retention is a fireworks show stating rebuild.

I like the trade but feel the Ducks need to add a couple of future 2nd round picks.
A future top 6 Center, top 6 RW and a 2nd pairing defenseman (all on ELCs) is a good return for a player who doesn’t appear to really want to be a Leaf any more.
Add in a couple of 2nd round picks, 2026, 2028) and you can include me as a Leaf fan who wants to see a big roster shakeup.

Let’s do the same with Willie “The Finger” Styles.
Let the rebuild begin as this roster isn’t going anywhere but backwards.

By the way Blowhard, for a guy that makes as many questionable proposals as you do, you might want to consider being a little more polite.

Shouldn't be any need for retention on Matthews. Leafs take on Strome as well and Ducks also give Luneau and I would seriously consider it if I were the Leafs. Sennecke is a player as you said. Good size, pretty physical and very skilled.

You do love to stir the pot claiming erroneously that you’re the only that is factual.
