Hakanpaa and Dewar come off LTIR on Friday, Jarnkrok shortly after so Tre MUST do something!

Hurrah! About time, right?

All teams know this SO the Leafs have little to zero negotiation leverage.

Do we trade for futures or look to win now?

The Leafs are not getting younger with the additions made this summer, ergo it would seem we need players now!

I’d try to retain Cowan, Minten and Grebenkin if possible.

First waive or trade Reaves and his $1.35m; he’s not doing his job.

Trade Jarnkrok for a mid-round pick.

Can now absorb Hakanpaa and Dewar.

Red Wings D, with a few exceptions, are old. Trade Liligren straight up for Veleno, a very solid and young 3C. Accomplished some cap savings.

OR go BIG and get Ross Colton and Samuel Girard for Liligren, Kampf and Dewar.

Would probably need to wave Pacciorety; Steeves or Grebenkin can be promoted.

Something like this works for me.

There is absolutely no way that package gets Colton and Girard.

For the most part I agree, but to be clear on LTIR, Friday is when any Leaf who has been on LTIR since the start of the season CAN be made eligible. They don't have to be bring them off LTIR if they aren't "ready". And we know how the Leafs can sometimes extend LTIR for cap reasons. That said, yes, Tree will have to make a move at some point in the near future.

I threw out a Liljegren for Veleno trade a few days ago, but not much response on that and what there was was mostly negative to the idea.

Kmores.
I agree, can't imagine Colorado agreeing to that. Nor can the Leafs afford to take on another $2.5-$3M in cap.

Colton is incredibly valuable to the Avs right now, with the absence of Landeskog and Nichushkin.

I saw your Veleno trade proposal. I do and have always liked Veleno so I’m with you on it.

What gets Colton and Girard? The Avs might like some cap relief.

Yes the Leafs might delay Hakanpaa and Dewar until a trade frees up the needed space. But I’ve been reading they’re close. Can we believe what we read is the question?

I also be okay with Mikael Granlund as a 3C as well as a few others.

Jarnkrok isn't ready yet. So just need a small move for now, but I think something is cooking.
