Leafs need a upgrade RHD and toughness. Getting that through a trade with one team makes sense.
Carolina: Pesce and Ferland
Toronto: brown Johnsson and Zaitsev ( add pick if needed)
We’re clearing cap with three players out and only two coming back. There’s marlies players to fill that void for cheaper on the fourth line until Ennis is healthy.

Brown johnsson zaitsev doesn't get you pesce alone. No way it gets both.

Leafs need toughness and an upgrade RHD. I agree trading with Carolina to fill the void of both makes sense.
Something like this may work better.
