Treading Water.......

It would be pointless to be in the same position as last years team. The leafs currently have the same number of points as last year team.

IMO
They would be better off throwing in some rookies and losing a couple more games then mirroring last years team.

It's team to get rid of Bozak, Komarov, JVR, and Polak

Thoughts?

Agreed; the Leafs need younger replacements for all those positions. Excluding Polak, all of those players can get a prospect and a 1st from a cup challenging team or a bubble team that wants to get over the hump. Heck, Polak got 2nd a couple of years ago.

The rebuild just started, the Leafs have to continue the process. Rome wasn't built in a day. And the cup has never been won by an expansion team. (Although, Vegas is looking good) .

I agree, continue with the rebuild. Get rid of Bozak, Komarov, and Polak. I might keep JVR if he re-signs at a reasonable price, otherwise, get rid of him. Kadri deserves better wingers than Komarov. Connor Brown deserves better than 4th line.
This team, as it stands, concerns me in the playoffs. I am a huge Leaf fan but as the team is now, I don't believe they can win a playoff round.
It pains me to say it, but I don't think they could beat the Bruins, Habs or the Senators in a 7 game series, even though those teams are not as skilled as the Leafs.

I agree but trade JVR as well. He wants 6 for 6 and the leafs can't pay that. Not when they have players that are NHL ready and waiting right now. Sosh, lievo, and kapenan could all be in the line up and not look out of place. And Dermott is already better than polak Carrick and maybe even Gardiner.
