Leafs make big changes throughout the season.

Philly trades Gostisbehere for Kadri + Rasenen

Toronto than makes a surprise trade

Dermott for Pulock

Zaitsev + Brown + 1st pick for Manson + Silferberg, and that trade is for you Leafs GM.

Trade Gardiner at the deadline for a first or a top notch goalie prospect.

Leafs Defense is more balanced and definitely more cost controlled.

Extend Hainsey for 2 years at 1.5 MM a year.

Don’t think the leafs would trade Dermott, I like Pulock though and I would be ok with trading picks, propects for him.

Would Philly take that trade? If they continue to suck then it is possible, but it’s still unlikely because other then Gostisbehere they only have Provorov as a truely elite defenceman

Don’t think Anaheim makes that trade unless Silfverberg is taken out of it, maybe not even if that happens, I like the telargets though

Leafs are all in this year, they have to be, so I don’t think they trade Gardiner, I would be ok with them letting him walk into FA after the season

Hainsey gets 1 extra year for the league minimum at most.

Amended my trades based on what you expressed and Craigger's suggestion.

Ghostisbehere + Hart for Kadri + Gardiner + Scott (g) would enhance your concerns about Philly's defense.

Saw a trade Zaitsev+ Bracco+ 3rd for Pulock, really liked that.

Dermott + Brown for Manson. Leafs remain under the $82 MM CAP.

I think it’s safe to say that if Leafs were able to make those trades, we would have an all-star defense. Easily one of the best in the league.

sorry but its 2 proven defenders 2 semi proven defenders and 2 players that haven't played a single game in the nhl how can you say its one of the best in the league based on promise.

What is wrong with that. Next year defense allows an extra year for Sandin to improve and replace Hainsey in 2020/ 21.

Rielly and Manson are elite at their positions. And Dermott and Pulock are proven enough if my eyes. Sandin and Liljegren are very highly rated prospects and performing outstanding in AHL considering how young they are.

Maybe a little hype on my part. I love hyping players. But I don’t think I was exaggerating too much. By next year, Pulock and Dermott will be even more proven. I mean, what more do these guys need to do to prove they are capable of second line play? Dermott’s stats are outstanding and is the single biggest reason that no one entertains the idea of Gardiner returning.
