Not saying I want to trade Nylander. There is just talk

WPG: Gardiner, Nylander

TOR: Trouba, Connor

I'd prefer not to trade Nylander but just keeping the rumours swirling

I don’t disagree with you here. Trading Nylander for Connor makes a lot of sense. We have a yum strong RW, so making a move from RW to shore up LW is smart thinking, especially since we only have Marleau for two more years, and we don’t have anyone in the system that can replace him. Connor is an excellent choice.

I don’t think Jets make this trade. Trouba + Connor has more perceived value than Nylander + Gardiner.

Jets are almost definitely going to trade Trouba, but I really think Leafs should avoid him. He’s greedy and injury prone. For someone who only plays 3/ 4 a season, he seems to think he’s entitled to all-star salary. Extremely selfish, he’s not a team player at all. It would be a nightmare negotiating his contract with him.

Yeah, the Leafs would need a big add here. Connor is better than Nylander and Trouba is much, much better than Gardiner. Nothing in it for Winnipeg at all.

Connor is not better than Nylander, nylander has back to back 61 point seasons, Connor has had 1 good rookie season, let’s see next year to see if Connor can get to nylander, I don’t understand rating a rookie over a proven player.

If the Jets are willing to make this trade I would hope Dubas would go for it but I can't see Winnipeg agreeing to this proposal.
