Does mike Green solve leafs top right defenceman role.

I just throw him out there to see how much he would offer leafs

In 3 years Liljegren takes over as your number 1 right shot guy.

What do you think Green has left I'm curious people's thoughts on Green.

Id rather keep Gardiner. he's played fine. We don't need more first round picks.

Gardiner is worth than a first rounder David. He’d easily fetch a first and A prospect.

Gardiner’s play has improved so dramatically these last two years, that I don’t think we can afford to keep him. A team desperate for offense next year is going to be Vancouver. Gardiner would be third highest point getter on the team as it currently stands, and with the exodus of Sedin twins, he would be even higher.

Toronto trades Gardiner, Lievo, Brooks
Vancouver trades Tanev

Tanev is not my optimal choice for top RHD, but he’s a lot better than what we have. And he won’t be costing as much as Gardiner will.

I like that one either you trade Gardiner for a first rounder and sign Green or right handed guy l. Or you trade Gardiner in a package to ungrade right side Tanev would work out for leafs well.

I agree mike green would be a great fit. With how Toronto plays their defencenen, he can put up 40-45 points no problem. I hated Gardiner for years but the past 2 years he’s been playing great; so how’s the time to shop him.
Whether or not they do is a different story, but I’d be all for mike green. One player I would love to see the leafs go for would be Nikita Zadorov. He’s really emerging as a top 4 defensemen in the league. They’d have to trade for him, but they leafs have assets. If they flip Gardiner for pick plus prospect, we could then acquire Zadorov.

Thoughts?
