Instead of Hjalmarsson, I think a better option on arizona might be to target former Leaf Luke Schenn. He’s a stay at home RHD on the final year of a cheap contract, and can probably be picked up for next to nothing.

To Toronto: Luke Schenn
To Arizona: 3rd round pick

At minimal, Schenn is upgrade over Polak and Carrick. He might not get much ice time, but is good insurance to have in case of injury.

I'd like to see a Dermott-Schenn third pairing, that would give Dermott a lot more freedom to move up-ice. Schenn's a pretty reliable stay-at-home defender who could help out PK too.

A 3rd for shenn is too much. You could probably get him for a 5th. With that you could also target Cody franson, another former leaf with a higher ceiling than shenn, and takes less penalties.

I'd only prefer shenn so I can dust off his leads jersey in my closet.

Does everyone forget why we traded Schenn in the first place? How do you come up with the fact he is a reliable stay at home defender? The guy is trash and would not see any ice time on any other team.
