The feeling is Lupul wants to play next year or screw with the Leafs.

So, he is going to get cleared by a couple doctors (2 at least).

Making him eligible to come off LTIR and causing Leafs to be over the salary cap, causing a trade of one or two core veterans.

Lupul is a UFA after this season and his 5.25M is off the books. The only way he can screw the Leafs is to sign another big contract with them :)

Try grabbing a clue before posting - as others have said, Lupul's contract is off the books after this year.

I think what the original poster means is right before the trade deadline, lupul will find a way to play. IDK if that's even possible or if he's ruled out for the year. But i'm assuming that's what he had in mind. In which case you trade jvr and bozak for picks and tank in an attempt to get in the running for dahlin.

Lupul has already been ruled by the league as unfit to play, the Leafs would have to change their position for him to play for them.
That is not going to happen and he is done at the end of the season.

Vegas will not take him now as they are headed to the playoffs.
Maybe Florida with a couple of picks or a player they want to unload, despite their budget policies.
