Agree Dave, future D looks good. Only problem it is on the left side in the near future. Right side help is 2 or 3 years away. Leafs need someone to fill in a top 4 RHD for a couple of years not named Polak or Carrick (both are ok as 3rd pairing) .
Biggest problem is Minny cannot afford the deal. They have 13.5M in cap space and a 15 man roster. After re-signing Grandlund and Niederreiter they will have about 3.5M to sign 6 players. Even 6 AHL contracts will cost more then that and that is with Stalock as a back up.

Agree with you guys on this one. Toronto's patience will pay off. As long as they don't put themselves into cap jail, they will always have opportunities for capitalizing on other teams misfortunes.

Take gauthier out and take out the 2nd then it a good trade.
