So what? Leafs want to make the playoffs to give experience to the young guns. They are no where near a Stanley cup. Why are you so desperate for a major blockbuster? One good d man isn't going to make the leafs a solid contender.
It's a process with drafting good d man ( maybe we draft Foote) let them develop

And how bout trade Gardiner? Yes he has offence but he flops everywhere being passed by and makes dumb decisions.

God bless. I hope the Leafs Brass eventually see what the fans see in Gardiner, his offensive ability is far from ever accounting for all of his defensive incapabilities.
IMO, Gardiner needs to go, +/ - is a broken stat that cannot be looked upon to reflect his performance.
Watch a Leafs game and with any knowledge of hockey, it is clear to see Gardiner is an incapable D, and not someone who can help a young team.
On a team with lots of veterans, perhaps. But not on a team like Toronto who are still learning and growing, Leafs are in their infancy and Gardiner is not a good D for a team in this stage.
Ala Justin Shultz for Edmonton to Pittsburgh. I'll say no more.

Leafs only have 3 defenders on roster worth keeping next season Reilly carrick Zaitsev. Once leafs add a few good defenders I'm sure gardener is traded.

Bowser, Gardiner is trash man. Without the puck on his stick he might as well be playing tiddly winks somewhere because he has no clue how to play defence. ANYONE WITH ANY KNOWLEDGE OF THE GAME CAN SEE THIS! he's great for fantasy league which is probably as far as your knowledge goes having never watched a leafs game, so it is what it is. You can't watch a leafs game and not see how bad he is at his position.

Of all the video game trade proposals. Some one finally making sense to move Gardiner. Who cares what you get. He's soft and a HUGE liability in defence. You never win with a guy like this on your team. Anything in return is a bonus because him no dressing instantly make the team better. End rant.
