JVR is a great forward; we all know that and he would no doubt fit nicely with the Anihiem Ducks. We also will assume he will rewarded with a very respectable and healthy contract from one of many teams out there that will court his services; unless Leafs resign him which would be great too. The brilliant thing for the Maple leafs, ithey don't have to trade him, he fits well with the current groupo of younger kids.
I Think if JVR is moved, it will be for a top 4 RHD and a prospect just before trade deadline to a team like Ducks or maybe Capitals.

Allow me to clarify, top 3 forward on this team. He certainly is a top forward in league. No not in the same conversation of Crosby, mcdavid, etc.
If ducks ever acquire him he slots in besides getzlaf and perry. With his skill set he is on most team's first line. With other team's top centres not named bozak, you don't think he thrives and succeeds even more. Size, skill and only 27.
For those that have been rumoured that could be traded on leafs, he gets you lot more then Leo, Bozak, etc. Why? Because he is a top high end forward.
He gets u lot more then josh Manson as centre piece of trade.
Sometimes u have to read between the lines on these posts.

I don't think there's any chance we get montour for jvr.
It feels like the leafs are getting robbed only getting manson, but I think the market has become this inflated.

Montour is a late 2nd rounder that took 3 years to develop and he may still not be ready. His defence is still suspect and will take a few more years to deal with.
The only reason he is up with the club is to showcase him for a trade.
