It would be great to pick Cal Foote, but he is 18 and would need at least another 4-5 yrs. before seeing the Leafs.
I have been looking at a LHD in the AHL Kurtis MacDermid playing for Ontario Reign of the L. A. Kings farm system 6'5" 209 lbs. and from my opinion can't get to the Kings because of the defensive group they already have. We could make a bid on trading for him and it won't cost us all the picks for d-men already in the NHL.

Cal foote would need 4-5 years before getting called up to the leafs? Is that a joke? I wouldn't be surprised if he made the team next year. Look at chychrun for Arizona, he's a big boy with offensive skill. He's done pretty good so far i'd say, he's the same as foote physically.

Cal Foote is 18 now and his birthday is in December. He's 6'3 and 209 lbs now. He's already D smart and has pretty good offense. Skating has to be worked on.

He could arguably walk onto the team next year on the 3rd pair given our lack of depth there. The problem is that he is standing out over others now and is moving up the draft out of our reach.
