I think the leafs should keep JVR. Until all our young foward prospects develop fully

To LEAFS: MONTOUR

To DUCKS: KOMAROV + 2017 (OTT) 2nd round pick

Thoughts?

Nice one, I'd do it. Both teams stand to improve with this trade.

This is not going to end well.

Best post yet today. Komarov is an effective frustration to all he shadows. He would certainly complement the Anaheim ducks for a cup run. On the flip side, he could bite the leafs in the ass if they were to make it deep.

"best post yet"

Seriously gcolpitts?

Goat,

Why r u trading PROVEN Nhler who plays regular shift and plays both specialty teams for UNPROVEN Ahler ANNNNNND throwing in one pick on this proposal and same trade, above this post, throwing in 2 picks? I know Leo is third liner but very valuable. Stop it.

Both trades do nothing for ducks. Why? They have ZEEEEERO cap space. Either trade puts them over cap. Next time look at other teams cap before proposing trade.

Why the hardon for Montour? Give me bigger body of work IN NHL before I start considering giving up Nhlers and picks for unproven pieces.

Why Montour (55th OA)? Because the kid can skate, score and pass. The only question is whether he can stop doing what Gardiner (lose the puck in the corners, trip over himself, etc. ) does and play defence. So there is some development still required with him.

He's worth the risk and trading for, but it would be Komarov only for Montour, and another player/ prospect back. Maybe Nattinen or Pettersson.

Leo is a quality asset that has 3 or 4 more years; which is just about the time span the Ducks have for their top players.

If the Ducks can't make payment, then a payment arrangement can be made by adding yet another middling prospect; or a pick in order for the Leafs to pay part of Leo's salary.

Lou will not finance for free, just to make a trade or just because the Ducks blew their cap space on Lindholm.
