Leafs are playing great, have great management and great coaching and could make the playoffs (bonus), but that is not the goal. Building a perennial cup contender (aka Chicago) is the goal. To that end;

Leafs: JVR (50% retained), Carrick, 2017 4th.
Ducks: Manson, Jones, 2018 1st, Montour

50% retained on JVR to fit under Ducks cap and make him more valuable. Manson takes Carricks spot with Gardener. Jones, Montour and 1st keep the rebuild moving forward. Lievo gets a chance to fill JVR's spot. Plan "B" call up Liepsic. Jones is the future LW for Kadri. In two years;
Hyman - Mathews - Bracco
Jones - Kadri - Soshnikov
Liepsic - Nylander - Marner
Martin - Gauther - Brown
Reilly - Zaitsev
Gardener - Manson
Neilson - Foote

I have to say, I like this trade a lot. Gives the leafs a d-man in Manson who can slot into a #4 role for you, max Jones is a gritty power forward who gives you tons of size and skill as well. Montour is producing well in the AHL right now, almost a point per game d-man who gives you another good option as he is a right hand shot as well. The first is just a cherry on top.
This trade would be great for the leafs, I'm just not sure the ducks bite on it

So you have bracco and soshnikov playing ahead of marner who's going to be even better than he is now and right now is very dominate at 19 I don't think bracco will get first line ice time in probably his first season especially over marner and Nylander.

Bracco is two years away minimum next year AHL then see how he does there. He not really that close. Your lines are messed up you have Soshnikov ahead of brown. Something way wrong with your forward lines.
