After winning the lottery this how I would like the rest of the offseason to play out.
Draft: Matthews and best defenceman and goalie available (I'm a fan of Lucas Johanson and Filip Gustavson) with penguins 1st and leafs 2nd and Clif Pu with Caps 2nd.
Trade JVR for a starting net minder or top 4 defenceman. Couple of scenarios that I think are plausible.

Leafs: JVR
Duck: Anderson

And

Leafs: JVR
Wild: Dumba and Vanek

Other pieces added to each side in either of those trades possibly

Sign Zaitsev and in the scenario where they aquire Anderson sign Jason Demers to a 6 yr 5 mil contract (what I believe it would roughly take) or in the case of the Dumba trade sign Reimer to a 4 yr 4.5 mil contract.

Target Stamkos and if able to sign him trade Bozak for cap relief and try to sign Jimmy Vessey as well (not sure where he'll sign but playing with Matthews would be intriguing.

I would rather keep JVR, if stammer did sign, imagine a line of: JVR -Stammer- Matthews

I don't think people really understand how good and how much value JVR has. He's worth way more then a so so goalie in Andersen and a decent d man in Dumba and a washed up bum in Vanek.
Just my opinion!

I don't know why everyone wants to trade jvr for half value. Jvr isn't going anywhere,unless we get a deal we can't refuse. we need his experience and veteren presence with all these young players we're bringing up. Plus if we trade him we will be looking for a big winger with net presence for the next 5 years
I've been saying go for Murray since before he stepped into the pens lineup. He mite cost a little more now
