That contract extension of 5.5 mil per year will be debated. The guy's only got 157 games in the NHL. We will have over 9.6mil in cap space allocated to goaltending next year.

If Anderson can play like the way he played in Anaheim, its more than just a steal for the leafs. Also, hearing that he already signed a five year extension with the leafs; If the $$ is right (~5 mil), Lou should get arrested lol.

Anderson only has 150 games of experience. Not a steal but an OK move; great if he pans out. My issue is next year we're looking at over 9.6 mil invested in our goalies. Hope Lou can dumb Bernier for a 2nd rounder (not likely but who knows?)

it's one year of 9.6 million in two goalies if they can't move Bernier. no big deal. Andersen was has won 77 of 125 regular season games. he's a stud and young enough that he may even get better.

Guys, did you ever watch the NFL Football movie - DRAFT DAY - before you criticize or go looking ahead to such things as too much money tied up with the Goalies alone, let Lou do his thing and after the dust settles and all the "moves" have taken place, then take a look at what the Leafs Team looks like and make as many comments then as you like.
Draft Day by the way is a very good movie - you should check it out and as you watch it . think of the similarities.

While I believe that it is possible to get the Wild's 1st rd pick, they will not trade M Riley. He is the son of 1 of the owners and signed with them as a free gent out of the NCAA.

good idea but I imagine it would be more of a komorov and a second/third.
id rather go for a deal like komorov, washington's second and both san jose's seconds for the 15th pick and coyle. he can play center and the wing. minny needs to get some picks big time. maybe toronto throws in a mid level prospect too. toronto gets the 15th pick while keeping pitts pick and get a big center while minny gets a good depth winger who can score plus three second round picks to start to refill their cupboards

Trade him next year - with an expiring contract, it'll make him all that much better to trade for.

Please stop with all these trouba posts. if he gets traded to the leafs it will be for a steal (won't happen), leafs aren't interested in trading any real assets for him.

Trouba is a good fit the current Leaf needs. However, the Jets clearly overvalue Trouba. He has the defensive chops, but lacks real offensive talent.
There is no point in the Leafs overpaying for him. At some point there will be another great young R Dman available, and they should try for him. This is a rebuild; development is key.
There are better trades to make than for Trouba.
In the meantime, Carrick deserves a shot.

The biggest issue I see going after trouba is if we don't give up Gardiner, than trouba becomes the third D to protect meaning carrick gets snagged in expansion draft

Marner was the correct pick, he was the bpa (best player availible), he's a player you can easily use to draw hype (like he has done), and he is a solid 2 way winger. The leafs need to look for some NHL ready Dmen in the draft (easier said than done, I know). But I feel as the next couple of top draft picks from the leafs will all be Defenders

Fabbro may not be availible at 19, Sean day will be a late 2nd early third, so you could use 57th pick or 61st for him. and dalcolle is way to skilled to sit on the 4th line. watched that guy a lot on the gens, very solid player
