Great but risky idea!

To MTL: G - J. Reimer

To TOR: G - B. Scrivens and 2016 1st round pick (lottery protected)

* becomes a 2017 1st if MTL does not make the playoffs

Toronto trades Reimer to MTL so they can get better in goal while Price is out and gives them a great back up in the event Price is hurt again for the remainder of the season.

The Leafs want to resign Reimer, but can get a top pick and re-sign him in the offseason anyways.

Like a few have said, it's not like players have not been traded and return to the team in the offseason. ie Winnik and Vermette mentioned above. MTL will not resign him as they have Price locked up. Just a way to get a pick for a player playing extremely well, also will help the Leafs finish at the bottom!
