Well it sounds like Treliving has had enough of Nylander and his negotiations.

He is a pain in the ass to deal with, just like his Dad was!

So I am suggesting three different trades to unload this ghost!

Toronto trades Nylander

To

Seattle for Vince Dunn, Wright and their 3rd round pick in 2024

OR

Toronto trades Nylander and Llyigren
To
Anaheim for Troy Terry, Max Jones 2nd, 3rd and a 4th in 2024

Then Toronto trades Robertson
To
Nashville for Lauzon RD

Or

Toronto trades Nylander
To
Islanders for Oliver Wahlstrom and Noah Dobson

Then Toronto trades Llyigren and Lafferty
To
Calgary for Zadorov

Those are my suggestions to rig us of Nylander or keep him and let him walk next year.

But still trade for Lauzon and Zadorov!

The defense would then be something like this,

Rielly Lauzon
Brodie Klingberg
Zadorov Timmons
Giordano

Or if Nylander trade goes threw with Islanders

I have to say, as the cap rises over the next few years, Willy will be a 10m dollar player. He knows that and is just asking for what someone will give him.

With cap going up starting next year, someone will give Nylander 10 million and he knows it. It’s about whether or not he wants to stay for “less money”. It Matthews cashes in Nylander will want to as well, as he should. I wouldn’t pay him 10 personally, but someone will.

Why add Liljegren to the Terry/ Jones deal.
Nylander is superior to Terry and Jones is a 3rd line player?

If Vince Dunn was a RHD instead of a LHD then a Dunn/ Wright deal would work.
Leafs weakness at RHD is more pronounced than LHD and will be aggravated by Brodie’s departure at the end of this season.

You’ve traded Liljegren twice!
That said, Zadorov’s physicality would be more than welcome.
But, once again you are adding to the LHD while this time subtracting a RHD a position of glaring weakness.

You didn’t even have Jake McCabe in your D pairings. I really hope we give up some offence and/ or even prospects to get that top pairing D that is tough to play against.
