Reasoning- Reilly going to become expensive. Recoup picks if possible. Strengthens up right side and one more year for sandin and Liljegren to develop.

I don't want to trade Reilly but I don't want an overall crappy defence group. Brings certainty to the budget and allows us to pay the kids as they bring more value.

So just to further comment, with the latest two signings and no changes, our forward group will cost roughly $57m. Nah we don't need a goalie upgrade so let's stick with roughly what, $7m in that area with Kessel. So $16m left for defence (and no I would not spend to cap) . So Reilly, muzzin, Dermott taking roughly $10m. Yep that $6m on the right side makes us contenders.

The fact is this team will win nothing as is. Go big or go home.

I’ve studied te salary situation thoroughly. I know exactly where you are coming from. Really will be our 5th $11M player once he RW-signs in a few years. No doubt about that.

I’m on your side when you say we should trade Kadri. A lot of people on here disagree, but it’s either him or Nylander. Personally I don’t care which of those two go next. But I would rather have Reilly than either of those two.

I knew you were setting up something for further comment with that post. But I do have to ask, why do you think Reilly is overrated? Gardiner for sure. And prior to last year, I would have tend to agree with you about Reilly. Last year was a good one though.
