So here's my thinking we are kinda doing Anaheim a favour in taking perry but I think perry would be bringing the intesity and physicality to the team same with comtois this would be our new third line

Only kicker is perry has 2 years left what do you guys think is it worth it

I don’t think it’s worth it, no.

Perry is $8M+ on third line. Just returning from bad time injury. Hasn’t scored more than 20 goals in over three years. I don’t see any reason to do Anaheim a favor like this. Unless they are giving us Manson instead of Comtois and they retain a big chunk of Perry’s salary this deal is a big red flag 🚩.

I would rather take a 4th for marleau and timishov though the idea is to clear cap space
Perry is just too expensive even if leafs buyout the cap hit stinks for next year.

Yea that was my concern too my goal was mainly to get comtois I think he’s going to be a good one he had 7pts in 10gp with the ducks last year.

I really like Jodes idea. But I think I read somewhere that it would cost Ducks $4M+ for four years or something crazy like that. I guess I could go on capfriendly to look, but I’m feeling pretty lazy right now, and my point is that for Ducks to buy him out, they would have to eat a big chunk of salary every year still over twice the length of time his contract is. He’s on a multi-year deal.

Perry makes to much. Maybe if Anaheim retains some salary and we can flip him after, I would be ok with this.
