Leafs trade: Kadri, Johnsson, Durzi, 2nd

Phi. trade: Couturier, Gudas

Phi. are done for this year and things are not working with the group they have. This would upgrade our Center position (Couturier vs. Bergeron) and give us a D that we need badly

I would accept Courturier but not Gudas. He is too reckless.

Everything good you can say about Kadri, including that sweetheart of a deal contract of his, applies to Couturier, and even more so. Couturier is young, bigger, cheaper, has a higher ceiling, and is outperforming Kadri again this year. If, for whatever reason, Philly wants to swap Couturier for Kadri + throw-ins, Leafs would be foolish not to jump on it. And to cherrypick Gudas here as well is a real steal.

Your right, but the problem in leaf land is this.

Babs has to move Nylander and Marleau to Matthews wing and put johnsson and kapanen with Kadri.

That will improve both those lines productivity.

The alternative is leafs have to dump nylander contract for a stud rhd.

I’d like to see either Marleau or Nylander centering Johnsson and Kapanen. I think the speed fact from that line would really overwhelm opposing teams slower lines. We would have three very good scoring lines. Kadri in wing beside Matthews in Marleau’s spot. A change like this might just be enough of a roster shakeup to light a fire under everyone’s ass and get them all going again.
