At $4.5M, Subban is the a bad idea. Most of his problems the last two years is because he is the getting the power play time like he was before he got hurt. After coming back from injury, Fabbro had pretty much replaced him on the power play, and when he got traded to Jersey, Jersey runs their power play through their wings, so Subban was largely ineffective in the few minutes of ice time he got on pp.

Look at what Keefe did with Barrie. Barrie is nowhere as good a power play specialist like Subban. Subban also brings a heavy hitting physical style of play we could use.

Assuming NJ would retain half, and we didn't have to give up so much for him, then Subban is still a damn good option for 1RHD at a cost of $4.5M. He's got to be better than Ceci, and if Dubas is willing to take a shot at Ceci, I can't see him not taking a try at Subban if he can get him for a criminally low price that is.

Ive got to agree. Subban had a down year on a terrible team as most players do. Getting subban for 4.5 would not be a bad idea.

But. i don't think you play him with Riley on the top pairing. You need a stud beside riley

I don't like giving up liljegren though. i'd rather see him develop then trade him for a risky player.

Subbans attitude is my issue with him.

Anytime you add a PP specialist you are essentially saying take Reilly off 1PP. I know you could run the old school 2D on the PP but Keefe never would. Would rather not have Subban or Ceci. Being on someone like hamonic or Brodie at a decent price.
