Leafs Let Ceci, Barrie Walk
Use some of that $$ Sign Brodie or Hamonic as a FA. Due to his medical incident, teams may not be willing to pay him as much as he may be worth.
Leafs Trade Marincin and Johnsson to EDM for Adam Larsson (EDM will retain to balance cap hits)
Brodie is not a right shot, but he's an upgrade. Adam Larrson is no where near the top end right shot we need. but for 3 million, he adds a big body for the bottom 6.
I doubt we are getting enough back in the EDM trade. Maybe a pick needs to be thrown in. I think EDM would like to have some middle 6 scoring depth and we could use the big body on the back end.
Let me know your thoughts.

Marincin is like sending a team a punch in the face lol. They want more than Johnson and Marincin for Larsson I'm sure.
I agree Brodie is the type of guy to sign. Petro will cost way to much and Brodie would fit well if he is willing to come.

For the Edmonton trade, if you made it Kapanen instead of Johnsson, I would be willing to bet they do it.
For the last 2-3 years, Oilers were looking for a speedy skilled goal scoring RW to play beside McDavid. They ended up with Kassian.
Now imagine how much better they would be if they actually got what they needed on the team for that position. Kapanen is the as physical as Kassian, but he isn't afraid to play tough as we witnessed near the end of the season. And, Kassian can skate much faster and score way more goals.
I think Edmonton would do a deal based around Larsson and Kapanen, with each side throwing in picks/ prospects as needed to balance.

Cap aside, i don't think you give up Nylander alone for those 3. Reinhart is on an upward trajectory. but the other two are average dman.

Ive got to agree. Subban had a down year on a terrible team as most players do. Getting subban for 4.5 would not be a bad idea.
But. i don't think you play him with Riley on the top pairing. You need a stud beside riley
I don't like giving up liljegren though. i'd rather see him develop then trade him for a risky player.

Frost is highly rated in the Flyers system and has progressed a lot since his draft year. There is no way he and a competent top 4 defenseman go for a 3rd liner and a 3rd pairing dman. I like dermott and johnsson a lot, but i think the value isn't quite equal. we might have to add a little here. good target in sandheim!

why do we undervalue domi in every post? why would he take a 1 year deal for 3.5. He will likely be in the 5 range no?
Got to agree with the comments above - nylander really established himself this past year and seguin is aging.
