So question for everyone, I know @suffering will be on this lol.

Could we offer sheet Nikishin at 1x4.4? The compensation is 1 or 2 second rounders, then make it up in an extension, something like 7 x 8 or 7 x 9 million, so the man gets paid. Just curious!

@Lgm That's a dirty move, but would be very funny lol.

If I'm not wrong, Canes can't trade him for a year after signing an OS. If I'm correct in that, he would never sign the OS knowing he's then still in Carolina.

I don't want to disappoint you LeafsGM. He can’t be offered sheeted. Yes he is a RFA but hasn’t played enough games to be offer sheet eligible. So a trade is the only option for him to leave.

Last I heard they had offered 8 years in the 6.5 range but he wants higher with less term. Not sure if we have enough to offer them in a trade without stripping some good prospects.
