No way Leafs would include a first round pick for Doughty.

I don’t see LA doing this for one reason only. They have LD that can play and are good. When it comes to RD, all they have is Clarke and Ceci. U remove Doughty and they r trash on the right side. So it makes no sense for them.

Doughty very much looked his age last year. Loved him his whole career but he is no longer the Doughty of old. There is a reason the Kings and he are content to play out the contract and will address at the end of the season. If he has another unwhelming (by his and the Kings standards.) I think he will retire as a King and he will have a place in the organization. If he has a bounce back I think he will do a one year at a time similar to Malkin at a hometown discount to help the team with the cap moving ahead.



One thing about the Kings, they have a good track record of rewarding ex-players with good positions within the team and the organization as a whole. Ken Holland, I can't see giving up Doughty to then saddle himself with Reillly's contract moving forward. They have to work hard to get some cap space for the future.
