The Avs are in deep trouble with their cap! Have under $3m and only 17 players on NHL contract.

Let’s help them by sending Carlo, Benoit, Maccelli and Robertson. If they sign Maccelli at $4.5 and Robertson, that’s a total of $11.8m.

They send us Necas @ $11.5 and Malinski @ $4.75.

Avs get 2 D to add to only 4 under contract and get a little bit of offence back in Maccelli and Robertson (last year 30g and 41a versus Necas @ 32g and 68a).

Yeah it’s one-way I know but the Avs Must do something crazy.

Not sure if they will go that drastic or not. Let's say this happened. Do you now trade Nylander for help elsewhere, like D?

Not sure either!

Getting Necas certainly gives us a big opportunity to target a top 2-way Dman.

Send Nylander to NJD for Mercer, Nemec and Anton Silayev.

OR LAK for Laferrière and Clarke.

So in the end, Carlo, Benoit, Maccelli and Robertson out. Necas, Malinski, Mercer, Nemec and Silayev in. Interesting for sure.

No, we don’t trade Nylander. I think we’d have to start with Cowen and their 1st back. But if you trade Nylander there will be a ripple effect with baby Matthews and a more offensive philosophy next year with a new staff.

Nylander, Knies and Matthews are untouchable. Use anyone else other than our 1st overall to beef up the defense. OEL is really the only d-man I’d consider keeping, but ya everything else can go to get a solid 6 d-man corp.

And what are you paying Robertson in all of this??

Makes absolutely no sense. They will get rid of Lehkonen, Nichuskin, Colton, Kadri b4 Necas. They r keeping their signed d. They r heavy on left handed players not right. Definitely not trading their signed d men.

I would not give up anything of value off our roster (We don't have much to give and we certainly don't have any first round picks after this year for another 2 years.) let Colorado stew over their overspending that took them to this place.

Not our place to bail them out. There are other teams we can deal with that are in a similar situation that we can work out better returns with like Dallas and St. Louis and the Rangers.
