You do realize that if he goes to the AHL have to pay him full salary and we only get cap relief of league minimum plus $375,000 which means we lose $4 million in cap space by doing that right? That’s why I asked.

So with that and $2.5 retention on Reilly that’s 6.25% of our total cap being paid for 2 guys not playing for us.

It all comes down to where we pick or if we get to pick after the lottery tomorrow.

If we pick 1st, I would approach Vancouver and see how badly they want McKenna (Media will be bad there but insane in Toronto and not sure McKenna could survive here) plus as good as he can be there are still some warts there for me anyway not everyone of course. But.... I Vancouver truly wanted him I would cut a deal that we would take Stenberg (Who I would want anyway lol) and for us letting them have McKenna they can have Reilly but we want Rossi. It's like playing a game of chicken lol.

If we pick 2nd and McKenna is gone then of course we take Stenberg.

If we pick 3rd, I like Verhoef because he is so good now and when you realize he has only played 5 years of hockey not being a goaltender his ceiling is going to be incredible.



4th, if those three are gone and we are in need of a D-man I would take Daxon Rudulph. When you watch their games in the playoffs he has taken his game to another level, not Matthew Shaeffer level but he has that side to his game and his compete level is very good. Some like Reid and Carels but of the 2 I would put Carels above Reid. Reid struggled at the end of the year and during the playoffs which was a bit of a red flag.

5th if available Malholtra. Even if the other Dmen were available (Unless Verhoef drop that far. Malholtra will be a extremely good player.

6th Which of course means Boston, I pick we boycott Boston Pizza for Treliving screwing us lol lol.
