I don't get all the people suggesting Stolarz is a good fit for Carolina? Why???? Just because Freddie is pretty much done with his career? Caroline doesn't need a Goalie. They have 2 very good ones at reasonable contracts without taking on Stolarz. Pyotr Kochetkov and Brandon Bussi are both great goalies and both signed at $3.9M between them. Stolarz carries a $3.75 M just for him. Yes, Kochetkov is out for the season with Him surgery. But he will be back in the fall.

His agent was actually optimistic even for the playoffs, but they don't want to rush him. I still think Stolarz best fit is Florida where they know him and are in need for sure. But they don't have a lot of assets. Only one stands out to me and that once again is Shea Busch. He is injured but almost back in the WHL. But 13 goals in 12 games in any Junior A league is impressive and is a big boy. It might take a bit more than Stolarz to pry him loose though.

I don’t think either team makes sense trade him to a place like Philly or Vegas, who have no goalie.

I certainly have posted Stolarz to the Canes frequently. I still see them as a target but the Panthers and Penguins could also be targets.

I don’t see Carolina resigning Freddy and Bussi has only 33 games in the NHL with GAA of .896. They may wish someone with more experience.

In my event the Leafs need to finally elevate Hildeby and keep Woll IMO simply because he’s younger.



I’ll take Sandis Vilmanis from FL, a 22yo 6.2 192 winger who wins board battles, hi hockey IQ and is a sniper. Add a R5 in 2026 and I’m good.

Or send him to the Penguins for 6.5 LD Owen Pickering and a pick in 2026 and I’m also good.

Pickering was #21 in 2022 and has played only 29 games. Unfortunately for him, Karlsson, Letang, Girard, Wotherspoon and a couple of others ahead of him.

How bout the Ducjs? They only really have Dostal. Mrazek is done after this year and Husso is a disaster. They need a solid back up behind Dostal. They have lots of assets and picks to give.
