Buffalo picks up a couple of young players and a veteran tough guy for Greenway who is on an expiring contract. Reaves should see icetime in Buffalo to help protect their young players.

Toronto picks up a large, physical 3rd line LW in Greenway who also PK's and defensively responsible while putting up 20-30 pts a season. He will drop the mitts when necessary and on an expiring contract.
Gives the Leafs a 3rd line of
Greenway Domi McMann
or move McMann up and go with
Greenway Domi Patches
Leafs also clear some cap space.

I can't see Buffalo giving up their third line winger who also kills penalties and drops the mitts and puts up 30 points for basically AHL’er Robertson and two 4th liners and/ or scratches …. On top of that they are going to retain 50%?

If Buffalo would do it, sure.

Grumpy, Holmberg is listed as having an illness and why he is scratched the last 5 games. Greenway is on an expiring contract and will be a UFA at end of season. Getting two younger, cost controlled forwards and a vet they could buyout end of season for only $450K against the cap for 2 seasons isn't a bad deal. Buffalo have dropped Greenway's icetime this year by a minute and a 1/ 2 and he is on pace for a worst point season total this year. They have also taken him off the PP this year. Doesn't seem like he is in their plans moving forward.

They can try and re-sign him in the summer if they want Greenway back.

Maybe you should ReFilL your flask and try again.

Sorry RLF, Inhave to agree. I don’t see Buffalo giving up a valuable member to their team for a couple hopefuls.

I guess you missed the part Clarky where all Grumpy did for his response was copy paste my response to one of his trades in order to try some kind of gotcha moment. He doesn't even believe what he wrote.

I will also venture to guess you guys don't realize Greenway is inured and out long term. Has been since mid December. He isn't expected back before the end of February.

So, how exactly is helping the team or an important part of their team if he is on IR and will be there for a while and then a UFA end of season?

Greenway would be a sufficient upgrade for the return but I would prefer McMann on his natural left wing (McMann is far better than Greenway) and the Leafs use their assets to acquire a true 3rd line right winger.
