Financially Leafs require Gaulthier and Holl for financial ballast for next year. Pick two other players.

That’s Woll, the goalie, not Holl. Lol. But it’s ok. I can see the confusion. Nashville doesn’t have any good young goalie prospects i the system that I know of, so thought they could use Woll. Since we would be bringing in DiPietro in the first deal, Woll is tradeable.

I actually thought pretty hard over that second trade who would work for us to get Sissons. He’s a very good defensive player is why I targeted him. I figured Nashville might want Gauthier as replacement.

What would you suggest instead for Sissons Heatdreamer? You usually put up good stuff. I value your opinion highly actually. Maybe I can re-work the trade for a later post using your suggestion.

I know you guys want to try and dump Zaitsev because he's a bad defenseman with a bad contract, but he is likely only worth a 4th round pick at best. So, you would need to compensate Vancouver for bailing you out on Zaitsev's contract.

I felt like I was lowballing them a little as well. But Vancouver’s RHD is horrible. Zaitsev might actually be the best defenseman on the team. Maybe we increase the pick to a 1st? Offer up a suggestion. I value your opinion highly. I could use it in a later proposal.

The only concern I have with Sissons, can we re-sign him for under 900K next year, and yes Woll can go.

After those trades, do Big Willy's Gardiner and Brown trade. Extend Simmonds 5 x 5.15. Simmonds can protect Matthews.

M and M must sign for 11 and 9 MM.


Offer Anaheim Hyman + Sparks + Lindholm for Miller + Sprong.

Re-reading my response, where I said you “usually” put up good stuff, I can see that I didn’t word that very well. I didn’t mean it that way it sounds, and I apologize because it didn’t come out the way I meant. What I meant was that you post a lot of good trades, and your comments always reveal insight into a proposal that myself or someone else may have missed. And I know you are good at coming up with alternatives and revisions. Honestly, that’s all I meant. I “usually” put up good stuff too. But not everything anybody posts is going to make sense to everyone else is all I really meant.

By all means, feel free to amend any proposals I float. It’s only beneficial to have an alternative handy.

I don't really know the Canucks needs well at all. However, if we stay with your original offer of a defenseman, maybe Sandin and a archive or third pick? That would at least give them a young guy to work with.

No way Van takes that first deal. one of the better goaltending prospects. Also, we have Scott. I’d rather give a lower pick ie Zaitsev and a 4th.

Vancouver also has Demkos, who is even higher rated than DiPietro. I was thinking maybe we could poach one of their prospect goalies here by giving them a bit of boost on their defense. Zaitsev may not be the best defenseman out there, but he’s probably still better than intone Vancouver has at the moment. You make a very good point though. Wedon’t really need DiPietro, what with Scott and all. Zaitsev and a 4th for Stecher is a-ok by me. I like that thought. We can use the 2nd to draft our own goalie if Leafs chose to go that route.

Thanks for the response and suggestions guys. If you can think of any other way to improve this deal, or any others, by all means feel free to offer up any ideas you might have. I obviously love talking about this type of stuff.
