They say imitation is the highest form of flattery, and since I liked Mackin’s proposal so much, I am floating a similar suggestion of my own:

Leafs trade Nylander
Rangers trade Pionk, Chytil, Shestyorkin

Pionk is starting to emerge as a bonafide nhl defenseman, and Chytil and Shestyorkin are both highly rated futures. This gives us a replacement for Hainsey, and provides us woth a couple prospects at center and goaltending, which imo are the two positions I feel we should be really focusing on development and drafting the next few years.

Nice! It is a Unicorn sighting for certain, but it could work. It would depend on how desperate the rangers might be at the moment.

That’s exactly what i said to David’s proposal. If Rangers don’t want to wait for Chytil to develop, he could be made available. They get a sure thing in Nylander. Pionk isn’t a stud or anything, but an upgrade over Hainsey for sure, and the goalie doesn’t really carry a whole lot of trade value. I just suggestwd throwing him in to milk Rangers. If we could get a return like this for Nylander,

Gotta love that Hayes. If Rangers could take pending ufa Gardiner off our hands in exchange for pending UFA Hayes, it might work: because we being in Pionk, Hainsey gets put on 3LHD and Dermott gets 2LHD.

Leafs may need to add, but would be more of a tweak than a major piece imo.
