The fact Arvidsson costs almost half what Nylander wants kills this deal.

The exchange of prospects is unique. What’s the point though?

The point of the prospects was to even the deal. I understand arvidson is more attractive due to his cap hit but Nylander would be an upgrade for Nashville. Only suggested this as I hear Nashville was interested. I think Nylander is better than arvidson but tolvanen is better than Bracco. Nashville won’t trade their dman so if they are interested, they would have to give up something from their offence. Toronto can add if need be.

I think smelly is right.

Arvidsson also scores a lot more than Nylander, which makes him more valuable in my eyes. I fail to see how Nylander is an upgrade over Arvidsson. Very similar stats, except Arvidsson has a great contract. Dubas should be using Arvidsson’s contract as comparable for Nylander.

I don’t know who the better prospect is. Not sure if it would balance the trade one way or the other. I believe Tolvanen ranks higher currently though. He was drafted a little higher, and in te eyes of many, that alone makes him more valuable, even though it doesn’t really mean a whole lot outside to first dozen or so picks.
