What happened to Hainsey?

If L. A. would take that trade, Toronto should consider it. We don’t lose anything off the current roster and being in a solid RHD in the process.

Not sure if NYI would want McBackup (or Martin) . McEllhinney is pretty old. We do have Picard or even Sparks we could offer them and maybe get a better pick instead of 6th. I know they are doing us a favour taking Martin back, but would like to see some kind of return if possible.

It wouldn’t surprise me if we see Marleau trades back to SAN Jose final year of his contract, so he can retire a Shark (as he should) . I guess it depends on how well he performs for us next year. If he does as good as he did last season, we could probably get a decent return for him.

These are nice safe depth trades and signings that would I prove the current roster. I like the defense you have suggested, though I still wonder what happened to Hainsey?

Don’t understand the Horton trade. Why give up an asset to get rid of a guy who does not impact the cap?

Why would you make Hainsey our 7th defenseman? Seems like a real waste. If your not going to play him, you should trade him for assets.

$5 million a year for Kapanen and Johnsson doesn't make any sense. They are both middle 6 players coming off their ELCs.
Johnsson: 3 years at $3 million a year.
Kapanen: 3 years at 3.5 million a year.
If either one wants more, trade them.
